“A wonderful and relaxing stay at the Manoir”

An absolutely fantastic holiday rental set in rural Brittany countryside. The house was furnished with everything we could ever need during our stay and much much more. The owners have taken every care over the furnishing of this property - little things like the bedroom black out blinds and super-comfy mattresses completely exceeded our expectations!. Kids are particularly well catered for and the private extensive grounds complete with heated swimming pool, games barn and trampoline were perfect for entertaining the children in our group. Some good local daytrips to be had close by and the coast is about 30 minutes drive away.

“Paradise in Le Quillio”
If you would like to have a 5-star holiday in Brittany, this is your place. The house is amazing, pool is great. We, 4 adults and 5 teenagers, stayed there one week and we hadn´t got any negative comments of this lovely house. The village itself it´s really small, but there are lot´s of nice, old towns nearby. Although there were 9 people staying, the house is big in enough that you could found a quiet place, if needed. It´s also really cozy place, the upstairs bedrooms are just like from one of Jane Austens book! .Chirs and Sue have think of everything, for a rainy day there is a cupboard full of games and dvd:s in living room.

“They thought of everything”

We had a wonderful holiday at Manoir de Bolu, all ten of us comprising three generations. Particularly impressive (besides the sundry facilities) was the attention to detail in providing those extra things which people forget to bring with them on holiday right down to spare toothbrushes, sanitary towels, toilet roll, a cupboard full of games and puzzles (with all their component parts), a veritable treasure trove of a toy box for the littler ones with working toys which had batteries that worked in them. The open barn games area, provided a great hanging out spot for the older ones and very friendly and unobtrusive hosts. Amazingly comfortable beds!.Highly recommended for those who want to spend time in semi-rural France with enough places of interest to visit within easy reach and perfect for larger groups.

“A Hidden Gem”

I almost don't want to tell you how great this place is as I would love to keep this hidden gem all to myself but that would be a great disservice to the hard working owners, Chris and Sue. They have beautifully restored and decorated this property to a high standard. It has every amenity you could ever want including travel cots, baby monitors, bottle sterilizers, wifi, ipod docking station, children's toys, games and dvds, fully equipped kitchen, garden with heated pool, trampoline, climbing frame etc....We stayed in September and the weather was gorgeous, hot and sunny, but I feel this would be a great property all year round. We were a group of 6 adults and 3 children and there was something for everyone! We arrived to a lovely welcome pack of wine, bread, milk, crepes and many other goodies. The owners live on site but they are extremely discrete and we felt that we had the place entirely to ourselves. The village is beautiful with fantastic cycle routes and a beautiful walk up to the church and fountain and for us was not too far away from local shops and amenities. A short drive away is the lake but travel further afield to Binic on the coast to collect shells. None of us wanted to leave and are hoping to return soon. The only downside is that I am obviously not the only one who feels this way as much of the term time holidays are already booked up for next year!

“We knew from all the information on the website this was going to be a fabulous place and we were not disappointed. Everything was spotlessly clean, the house was beautiful, the pool warm, the garden lovely, the play area great, the toy’s plentiful. Probably better than being at home. You as our hosts were brilliant, there but not there! Thank you for everything”

“We came for a week’s relaxation in nice surroundings – what we got was a fab relaxed week in beautiful surroundings with all we needed in ‘Manoir de Bolu’. The pool is amazing and the toys in the garden and barn kept everyone entertained. “The ten of us ranging in age from 2 1/2 – 77 years have had a wonderful week in the glorious Manor. Everything you could possibly want or need is here, and the beds are blissfully comfortable. All the toys and occupations on site kept the five children very happy. Of course the lovely swimming pool was a great favourite, and the bicycles catered for all our ages. Your kitchen we thought was a dream, and we loved the décor and furnishings you have done, keeping the French traditions. The welcoming provisions were a lovely touch which we much appreciated.  Must mention your amazing wildflower meadow which was perfection. All agree that Sue and Chris are quite exceptional in what they have achieved here Good luck for the future.”
Kirsty, Bruce, Fiona, Ella, Katy and Jack - July 2009.

“ From the New Zealand contingent. Thank you Chris and Sue. We are glad that you spent 3 years locating the ideal home away from home, ‘Manoir de Bolu’ is certainly worth the wait!, we enjoyed the friendliness of the locals. With the children we found a particular appreciation for the park, the grounds the play equipment and of coarse the pool, nicely heated we might add. In all a memorable holiday and quite unlike anything we have experienced in New Zealand. "
Taff, Tia, Rose and Harry Bennett – July 2009.

“I don’t want to leave! It’s been the most wonderful holiday. The house feels so welcoming with the most marvellous decorative touches everywhere. Every cupboard held something exciting. Children were particularly well catered for. I loved the outside area to. So thoughtfully set out depending on whether one feels energetic or not. I would absolutely love to come back.”
